Amaretto Black Tea Lemonade & Bay Leaf with Sweet Vermouth & Bourbon
Tasting Notes:
Aroma — Top: sweet almond and marzipan, bright lemon zest. Middle: honeyed black tea with bergamot-like citrus and mild tannic earth. Base: warm vanilla, toasted oak, light caramel, herbaceous bay leaf and a faint clove.
Palate: Smooth amaretto and candied lemon.
Mid: strong black tea adds tannin, dried fruit and citrus pith; vermouth gives spiced red-fruit notes like raisin and bitter orange with a touch of nutmeg. Finish: bourbon oak and char soften to toffee and vanilla, with bay leaf’s herbal, slightly menthol bite on a long bittersweet fade.
Texture & Balance — Silky, medium-full; sweet and bitter are balanced by lemon acidity, tannins and bay leaf.
Serve chilled with a lemon slice on a balmy afternoon.
